What do you do when the guy making your investment decisions questions your political judgment, while simultaneously pointing out the negative impact your actions (and inactions) have had on the environment, the political landscape and the economy? Get a new investment adviser or send the guy your next IRA deposit? Jeremy Grantham, one of Dick Cheney’s investment advisers, sent all of his clients, including the VP, a scathing letter indicting the last 20 years of U.S. Energy Policy. The mailing, sent last week is entitled, “While America Slept, 1982-2006: A Rant on Oil Dependency, Global Warming, and a Love of Feel-Good Data“. The four-page letter questions oil policy, environmental policy and special interest influences on past and current administrations.

Any hedge fund manager out there might want to give Dick C. a call.
