Ocean Green is the winner of The Surfer’s Path magazine’s first-ever Green Wave Award for surfboard manufacturing. The Green Wave awards are presented for excellence and achievement in promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness in the surfing world.

Based in Nicaragua and the UK, Ocean Green is the only surf board manufacturer in the world developing boards made entirely from natural materials that provide a real alternative to existing products in terms of both price and performance. The lightweight design overcomes the lack of performance inherent within solid wooden boards. It also alleviates the issue of non-biodegradable foam in landfills. Standard construction uses non-biodegradable fibreglass cloth. Ocean Green replaces this with 100% biodegradable Organic Hemp or Cotton.

The Ocean Green EcoFoil blanks are a hollow balsa construction. The wood is sourced in Nicaragua from sustainably managed forests and worked by carpenters and shapers under Fair Trade conditions. OG has planted over 5,000 trees and aims to increase this yearly, providing a natural take-up of CO2.
