Hi just wanted to draw your attention to my pledge "I will collect as many plastic bags as possible, caught in trees, bushes, fences ect and re-use or recycle but only if 50 other people will do the same."

— Ann Rapstoff, resident of Didcot

Deadline to sign up by: 30th April 2007
14 people have signed up, 36 more needed

More details
In my earlier pledge concerning plastic bag collecting, I asked a small perfectly select group of people to join my pledge, this was successful.

I am getting more ambitious and am asking for 50 people to join my pledge as I continue to be fed up, infact veeerrrry fed up with the amount of plastic bags hanging from trees, caught in fences and generally blowing around in our streets, caught in gutters and the edges of roads. If trees were human they would be crying out for help, as they are being strangled by the things.

I would like to draw your attention to

http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf517076.tip.html
you may also like to have a look at http://www.myrecycledbags.com

If you are not a weaving person, why not recycle by using bags for your dog poo, rubbish, knitting, ties for your garden canes and save our trees and fences, making the world a better place to live in.

I have begun to compile a website about our plastic carriers pledges at
http://www.corridorsandcuttings.moonfruit.com

go to the plastic carriers link and you will find some pledgers adventures already on the site and plllleeeease send me any pictures, locations, writing or experiences of your collecting pledge and what you have done with the bags you collect, these will also be placed on the website.

Good luck with your collecting Ann

Glad to see I'm not the only one who feels this way -- it's becoming an obsession. Keep it green.

Excellent idea! I do not live in NYC, but have visited on occasion and noticed the tree trash that you speak of. It is unsightly and takes away from the beauty of the city!
