I think it’s great that some yoga studios offer yoga practice for kids. Some sessions are designed for parents and children to practice together, and some are for kids-only. In either case, to have the yoga benefits of flexibility, breathing skills, meditation, core strength and endurance, as well as mental stimulation integrated into a child’s development is absolutely awesome. I love the yoga and Pilates classes at yogaworks in NYC. I practice at their mid-town location, but also have tried their upper east side and west-side locations. Their KarmaKids Yoga program — is for tots who have mastered the skill of walking and kids up to age 9. Family Yoga classes are priced at $720 for 3 participants for a period of 16 weeks, quite a good NYC value.

ecoyogamat.co.uk – thanks to them, I use a jute mat, the natural rubber/fabric mix is very strong and grippy, providing me less slippage when my hands sweat. It’s biodegradable as well.
