Once again, Peter O’Toole is absolutely brilliant. Superb script. Be sure to see Venus, and bring the tissues. Hopefully, Oscar awaits him.

The Forest Service is considering a new management plan for the Tongass National Forest in Alaska. On the table are plans to greatly increase logging and road building in what is the world’s largest temperate rain forest. The plan is not yet finalized and the Forest Service is still hearing public opinion on the plan – so send them a message through The Wilderness Society who will forward your message directly to Forest Supervisor, Forrest Cole (that’s really his name). The Forest Service often favors harvesting our great trees over conserving them. Fight the exploitation of our federal lands. Protect our old growth trees.

This is not your great grandmother’s pot bellied stove. Here’s a high efficiency pellet stove that packs enough wallop to heat a 1,500 square foot home. The Magnum T-40 combines country charm, high efficiency, and state of the art electronics with the ability to create from 10,000 to 40,000 btu of efficient heat per hour. This unit is easy to clean and features simple to use controls and auto-igniter.
Some other features of the T-40 are a six position multiple speed solid state control, status light indicators, a safety pressure sensor, and high temperature and proof of fire sensors that can detect blocked flues, open doors or lack of fire.
The Magnum T40 also has an automatic cool down/shut off feature when it runs low on fuel. The stove can run off a 12volt back-up battery system for power outage situations, operates quietly and has very low emissions (less than 1 gram).
Fueled by corn or wood pellets.

Give your fine feathered friends a place to raise a family with these handmade, designer ceramic birdhouses from J Shatz. The 1/8″ opening makes it a perfect home for small native birds like Chickadees and Wrens while preventing the dreaded English Sparrow from taking roost. These birdhouses are predator proof, rust resistant and designed for year-round display. They have a 2″ cleanout hole in the bottom and ventilation to keep your tenants cool and happy.

Since childhood, I’ve been fascinated by the old — furniture, clothes, buildings, people, places…even dabbled in the world of collectibles by becoming a vendor of antiques in upstate NY for a few years, which may explain my attraction to the name, What Comes Around, Goes Around.
By Appointment Only, you can be privy to mint vintage clothing and fashion accessories, and an extensive antique textile and swatch library at WCAGA’s Archive, a 7000 square foot showroom in NYC. A great resource for designers, stylists and wardrobe specialists, and a candy store for celebrities and the well-heeled.
Their repro-fashion collections are available online @ nyvintage.com or in-store, but as far as I can tell the makers don’t seem to espouse green or eco-friendly guiding principles. Someone should tell them green’s coming around.
