I tried this product in Australia and it really worked well. I've used other natural products and found them to be much less effective. Bite Blocker Xtreme version holds up in a tropical climate. I asked the manufacturer about the glycerin and it is a vegetable glycerin (from plants) that is used as a humectant to help moisturize the skin. It feels great!

I greatly prefer Natrapel which uses citronella as a main ingredient this actually doesn't work as well as eucalyptus or catnip which can be found in several others including Buzz Away and Amrita. These contain only essential oils... no glycerin like Bite Blocker.
