Getting Off the Strip - Las Vegas Springs Preserve

Springs_Preserve_Gardens.jpg
Sick of the slots? Tired of the tables? After nearly ten years of development, Las Vegas’ Springs Preserve, a 180-acre plethora of botanical gardens, trails, museums and galleries, has just opened as an off-the-Strip tourist experience.

Set upon land that was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the site of the first water in the valley, the Preserve purportedly “represents to Las Vegas what Central Park represents to New York.”

Visitors to the Preserve can check out the two main galleries that serve as a shining showcase for sustainable building practices, ORIGEN Experience and the Desert Living Center, which offer the story of Las Vegas history and educate guests on the latest innovative tools for living an eco-friendly lifestyle.

For more information, including this summer’s live concert series, visit springspreserve.org. Let me know how it is if you visit there — it’s on my “next trip to Vegas” list of Things To Do.
