Tiny Homes: Tumbleweed Update

We love Jay Shafer’s Tumbleweed Houses, especially when a guy builds one for his mom whose home was lost to Katrina. Mark Terrano is such a guy, and you can check out more of mom’s new tiny digs here.

If you’d like to attend Jay’s upcoming workshop on how to build your own Tumbleweed Tiny House, you can save $100 by signing up before July 22. It’s in Sonoma County, California August 17-19, 10a-5p and costs $499 (pre-discount).

An Alternative Alternative – eco fashion

AltHoodie.jpgI’ve been digging Alternative Apparel’s comfy-cool lounge clothing for quite some time now and was more than pleased to see that July brings with it the launch of Alternative Earth, the brand’s new eco-friendly line.

In addition to offering organic versions of the brand’s classic tee’s, the line also includes eco doubles of the popular vintage heather collection – Eco Heather – that’s manufactured using organic cotton, recycled polyester and rayon made from naturally occurring polymers. The unisex crew is my all-time favorite in the conventional tees, so now I’ve got an extra excuse to order up. (It’s $30 for the eco-version.) Hoodies like this one, henleys and pants will all be available in late July for guys and gals too.
