The slogans and declarations on the outside of bags are getting way too long (bigger bags?). We now have a group of plastic bag manufacturers, the PBA, promoting the use of plastic bags, with “I AM a plastic bag and I’m 100% recyclable.” What about the energy expended to create these disposables?
Cities like San Francisco are passing ordinances banning plastic bags unless they are recyclable (corn based plastic) or recyclable paper. Ultimately, reusable bags are the real totes of choice. Nice try, plastic guys. Can’t blame you for fighting to survive but conscious consumers won’t be schlepping with these hideous bags. Did get them some publicity though…
