The Sundance Kid is all grown up, and he’s a driving force behind not only independent filmmaking, but also environmental activism. Robert Redford is one of the keynote speakers at this year’s gathering of mayors for the third annual Sundance Summit on global warming. I caught CNN’s live interview with Bob about an hour ago; when asked if he thought GW Bush will motivate Americans and others to wake up and do something about this global climate crisis, Bob basically said, “…I’ve met with them a number of times, forget about them, (Bush and his cronies/administration); they’re in serious denial about the whole situation.” Man, he’s good.
Sundance Summit begins today, 9/9 and continues through 9/12. The premise of the org is to get a grass roots political force for climate change going in the U.S., and promote new technologies that will impact our economy and planet in positive ways. What’s on their agenda?
I was curious to see which mayors are attending the conference, not one mayor from NY state, and only 2 from NJ, and 1 from CT. Of course, there are 10 mayors from California attending, no surprise there, they are one of the most progressive states, ecologically-speaking.
