We need to be mindful of ingredients not only in food, but also in personal care products. Did you know that most of your typical deodorants contain aluminum? Right, the element many believe to be linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Might be time to try a natural deodorant. But a word to the wise — many natural deodorants don’t contain chemical antiperspirants to prevent sweating, so you may need to reapply during the day.
Weleda offers a choice of: Citrus, Sage or Wild Rose. They’re basically made from an alcohol base with essential oils and some herbal ingredients added to them. Alcohol or grape seed extracts are some of the good guys — they’re in a lot of natural deodorants and they act as natural preservatives. Natural preservative…has a nice ring to it. One little detail — when compared to traditional deodorant, it’s not inexpensive; but don’t sweat the small stuff.
Available for $12/ 3.4 fl oz, or $7/ 1.02 oz @ weleda.com
