Mag-Wind: A Crowning Achievement for Your Home
by Kyla @ 9:30 am 7 comments »

Here’s another vertical, bird-friendly wind turbine to fit your roof like a crown. This 250-pound Mag-Wind has a base of 13 square feet, giving it a low pound-per-square-foot load. With the right equipment, this quiet, magnetically-levitated machine can help you move toward energy independence, provide power during power outages, and will surely contribute to your peace of mind, not to mention air quality. Contact mag-wind.com for more info, or for a list of distributors.

This is incredible - I’ve never heard of this. Thank you so much for the info - I just discovered your blog.
If you have a chance, check out my recent post on Retail Design Diva about steps major retailers are taking to be more environmentally friendly. It’s pretty exciting.

Thanks!

Bad. Ass. Very cool!
This product has NEVER been proven to work. It claims are hogwash!
Check out the Mag-Wind website - It hasn’t been updated in years. The company has yet to produce anything, the claims they make for performance defy the laws of physics, and it is impossible to get a response from anyone associated with them. The only real news about this “product” is from the people who had their money taken by scam artists.
Whatever you do, don’t give (literally) any money to this company. The “product” is only wishful thinking at best or a complete scam. Don’t get duped. Buy something that actually works like a Begley or a SouthWest Windpower turbine.
Very suspect. They list innvotech as their fabricator in Texas. I contacted that company and was replied to by their VP Ken Smith, who stated that they no longer had any affiliation with MagWind. Though MagWind still lists them as their fabricator on their website.
Stay Away!
And as of the third week of January ‘08, their web-site is down. Maybe they will no longer list vector systems, (incorrectly cited above by me as invotech) as their fabricator.
I have 2 on the way. They work now that they got rid of the Texas Company. I am a dealer, not taking order yet. If any one tells you to give a deposit then they are a rip off. The final beta testing in complete and we are doing some first runs. There will be a carbon fiber verssion out end of the year. The ones I have coming are 10KW 14′ wide by 8′ tall. Dont give Jim the inventor a hard time!!! He is a hard working guy and will produce in time.
