Just like to say that Julia Fenster is absolutely on target with amber teething necklaces! They're the greatest thing since pacifiers and the fact that they're "drug-free" makes them even better. I've been into natural amber for a long time (3 babies ago:) and now I'm using it for my premature arthritis...There's no end to pain relief needs so I'm very happy amber works for this, too. I buy my jewelry and gifts for family and friends from AmberArtisans.com I like the fact that the owner of the company comes from Lithuania but lives here. I know I'm getting original amber from him. I've also gotten great service quick response to any questions, fyi!

Hello and thanks for your comment.

Of course as a parent of two small children (toddler and pre-k) I appreciate your concern. The key is to purchase a necklace that is child's sized and only child sized, and of course you want to check that the piece the clasp is attached well etc.

I have had a piece like this for 4 years and have had 2 children wearing them in my home - and not one has ever managed to open it or put it anywhere near their mouth (they are simply way too short making it entirely impossible to reach mouth). Barring a defect of some kind, these necklaces are not at a chocking hazard at all.

Thanks for the great comment.
