This new bike is rolling out soon from the French company, Matra Sports, who in its earlier incarnation was a car design firm and a Formula One racing player in the 60’s and 70’s. They now make funky electric and hybrid vehicles. The MS1 will be available in spring 2008 and will run you around $4,900.
This bike is said to have a non-pedaled range of 62 miles and a governed top speed of 28mph
(above that, you need to register it as a motorcycle).

Features regenerative disc brakes and a battery storage above the rear wheel, it’s 9 speed, has an aluminum frame, dashboard electronics and alarm systems.
Created for the European market, I can find no info on US distribution. It does look interesting.
