pOrOus Chair - recycled plastic modernism
by rd @ 8:50 am 4 comments »

Eco-hipster style reaches a zenith with this uber-moderne chair which won short-list recognition in a recent design boom furniture competition. Designers daisuke
nagatomo d + Minnie Jan have created this vibrant seating pod from recycled post-industrial materials, such as soda bottles. The re-fabricated polyester holds its form while possessing forgiving flexibility. Add a power outlet for customization via the addition of technology or tech-toy of your choice. Computerized milling allows for the creation of a very precise mold into which the recycled resin is poured, for a very streamlined and eco-friendly manufacturing process.
