Your True Nature, the sustainable company that takes a “gentle and lighthearted approach to life,” has added a fourth R to “reduce, reuse, recycle” – replant! They replant enough trees – 50,000 so far – to replenish all paper they use. And that’s a lot of paper, because they specialize in creating endearing books, journals, cards, notepads, posters, bookmarks, stationery, and even t-shirts and seed packets. All materials are printed on recycled paper with soy-based inks, and many are assembled by disabled individuals.
Your True Nature takes conservation seriously, not just as a product for sale, but in practice as well – they transport materials in hybrid vehicles, reuse all boxes and packing materials, and dispose of only one household-sized bag of trash each month. Now that’s efficiency! Choose a gift for yourself or a friend from a range of delightful products that “celebrate trees, gardening, the human nature connection, the flow and ease of life, and human growth.”
Popular books include “Advice from a Tree” and “A Thousand Things Went Right Today.”
I may treat myself to the “Advice from a…” bookmark set that includes wise words from a: tree, loon, bat, moose, bear, mountain, river, garden, dog, squirrel, and other mindful critters. We could all learn a thing or two from nature. YourTrueNature.com is a great place to start.

[...] Here are a few suggestions for keeping the intention top of mind. Create a desktop image that speaks to your theme so when your computer is resting your theme will be visible. Put a banner on your cell phone so that every time you make a call you are reminded of your intention. Design a vision board with pictures and words that support your theme and post it near your work space so you can see it clearly during the day. By creating these visual reminders you are greatly increasing the chances that your intentions will manifest into your life. What we focus on tends to expand. I think I have come up with a theme for 2008. I am already quite committed to sustainable living but there is always room to improve. My theme for 2008 is “It’s Easy Being Green!” In everything I do there are the opportunities to share positive and easy solutions. How about in my upcoming keynotes or at my next zero-waste green conference or retreat? Increase tree planting efforts. Create less waste. My Green Mantra: Reduce, Re-Use, Re-cycle and Re-plant. Explore even greener manufacturing processes. Your True Nature is known for its green business practices and I think 2008 is the perfect year to take it up a level to inspire others to go green. Last month the Alternative Consumer published an article about my company’s sustainable business practices. Check it out! When you are done…get busy creating your own theme for the year. [...]
