I’m disappointed to see you list kindle on here. Yet another hard-to-recycle chunk of plastic destined for a landfill. How about good old fashioned books, which are more and more being printed on recycled paper?
Whether or not to include kindle was a bit of a debate. On one hand, kindle’s construction is not eco friendly — a minus. On the other hand, as much as we love books, the idea of being able to download reading material when at the beach, or just about anywhere — a big plus. Making reading more readily available won out — if it induces people to read more, that’s a net positive. We figured it would help save some trees and energy as well.
