Tired of hauling your groceries around in your grandmother’s laundry cart while trying to ween yourself off shopping bags? Here’s a solution to both your personal style and sustainability issues. The German designed, Reisenthel Foldable Trolley, is a popular shopping aid in Europe and is now available in the US. Holds up to 30 lbs of stuff, or about the same as two standard brown paper grocery bags. Folds into itself creating a zippered pouch with carrying handle. Easy to carry when empty. Simply unzip, snap wheels into place, and pack.

With no inner frame, it’s lightweight and easily zips up into its pouch. Comes in black, red and orange.

design by animals

Those with an appreciation for innovation in the design process will get a kick out of the direction taken by Sweden’s, Front, in their Design by Animals Project. Could someone lend me a paw with this table…

  • insect table – the paths that insects have taken become a pattern

  • rabbit lamp – tranforms a mold of a rabbit warren into a lamp

  • rat wallpaper – a rat’s nibblings create openings that reveal another layer

  • fly lamp – the flight path of a fly round a lamp is motion captured to create a lampshade
