For North America’s premier “cinemaquatic event,” head to California’s bay area February 1-3 for the 2008 San Francisco Ocean Film Festival, now in its 5th year.

Come celebrate the wonders of the ocean through sensational cinema and gain a closer look at how humans interact with the oceans. Films will explore the beauties and wonders of the oceans, as well as the problems they face today. Screenings include “Save the Leatherbacks Campaign,” “Surfing Thru,” “Removing the Black Rat from Anacapa Island,” “Sea Kayaking Australia,” “Shark Conservation, “The Science of Big Waves,” “A Man Among Orcas,” and many other exciting titles.

I even hear a rumor that “The Life Aquatic’s” Steve Zissou may be a guest speaker! (joking)
