Millions of tons of electronics scrap is jettisoned into landfills each year. One company doing its part to stem the flow of junk-electronics is ReCellular, the global leader in the used wireless market. The Dexter, Michigan company was founded in 1991 when two brothers saw an opportunity to make some money while making a difference, a sterling example of the new ‘green’ economy.
ReCelluar buys, resells, recycles and accepts donations of used cell phones, parts, devices and cellular accessories. The company collected 6 million phones in 2007.
