Natalie Portman walks with a conscience

Natalie Portman has designed a new vegan shoe line in association with Te Casan, the global designer shoe company whose name means “A Woman’s Path” in Gaelic.
I happened to attend the launch party at Te Casan in New York City last night; a subdued and civilized affair at Te Casan’s NYC store.
Natalie’s debut collection is now available online at TeCasan.com and at their elegant boutique at 382 West Broadway. All of Natalie’s proceeds from sales of her ‘animal free’ shoe line will be donated to The Nature Conservancy.
Marketed to the upscale consumer, these shoes are Limited Edition (100 pairs) with the red satin Paloma sandal (at right) going for a cool $275.
I snapped a few…please pardon my lack of photography skills.

I’ve always thought that Natalie Portman has impeccable taste
love, love, love the sandals!
I am very proud of Natalie Portman, her natural shoe line and flare as a shoe designer. What mostly is important to me is that she is conscious of the environment and her love of, and respect for, Animals’ rights. It is very important that we help life on this planet and protect Earth’s future. Her donation to The Nature Conservancy is a beautiful way to help our community. So i say “GOOD JOB and thank you Natalie Portman”. Medical and Nature Conservancy volunteer, Sean Brewer
