wireless electric skateboard

electricskatebrd.jpg
I’m not a skateboard addict but this looks like a cool ride. This M4 800 Altered Electric Skaterboard is a wireless remote-controlled electric skateboard that can go on- or off-road, and hit 20 mph in 5 seconds. The technology involved is impressive for any electric vehicle, let alone a skateboard. The motor and radio control chip set makes this an impressive personal electric vehicle. The super heavy-duty regenerative motor serves as both power and braking system.

1c_2244_detail_1_1.jpgThe company states that on most surfaces you can carve like a snowboard, or slash and carve like you would on a surfboard. The board is an ultra-stable longboard and has much bigger wheels and trucks than an ordinary skateboard. It’s operated by a hand-held, wireless controlled throttle and braking system.

“Runs like a Ferrari but it’s built like a M4 Sherman tank.”
Check out the video, this thing looks like a lot of fun.

Unfortunately, this cool ride isn’t suitable for car pooling.
$599.95 @ electric-board.com Comes with a 36 volt battery pack and charger. (For riders up to 275 lbs.)

This a pretty cool ride. Not as usable as the rest of the Exkate/Altered line up. I will do a full review soon on my blog@ http://www.electricskateboardreview.blogspot.com where as at the moment this brand is my favorite..so far. Ride on with a smile* Kyle Mansfield in California

I have this M4 800. I live in NYC. It is the BEST form of transportation for me. I ride it to work, charge it, then ride it back home. With the traffic during rush hour, I get home faster then I would if I took the subway. New Yorkers and tourists alike see me and they either take pictures, film me or just watch in awe. I love this board and will be getting the new model that comes out later this summer for my friends to ride in Central Park with me.

Thanks for the link- the board looks real good and I’m saving up for one. This type of riding is so cool and accessible. I’m still curious what is the reputation of these new boards? I still have a x-24 that required quite a bit of shipping to Sausalito to keep it running. When it broke down for the third time, it has been sitting for 3 years. Are these new boards more reliable?

Aaron…hey let me know if you want to sell your old x24 (I can use it for parts) and put it towards a New Exkate/Altered ride. You should be able to contact me @ my blog
http://www.electricskateboardreviews.blogspot.com the new stuff has ‘Blue tooth’ electronics and should be very reliable….let’s just get them to produce enough and hit the streets! Ride On-Kyle in Calif*
