Ireland’s Greenbox is a great ecotourism destination surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Shannon Erne Waterway and Lough Erne. The Greenbox has unspoiled, natural landscapes, unique ecosystems, learning centers, and off shore islands.
Among many other things, the Greenbox promotes environmental sustainability in order to minimize the impact on the environment, as well as conservation and promotion of the local economy. The area is being continually developed to meet ecotourism standards and to improve, in conjunction with many environmental enterprises and ecotourism products.
Greenbox also encourages tourists to reduce their ecological footprint when traveling to their destination, and they even tell you how to do so on the site. Visit their home page for an overview of special events, cycle tours, eco breaks such as an experience at the organic centre or a craft weekend, living architecture weekend and lots more details about how to take a greenbox visit to the magnificent emerald isle.

The Greenbox has been at the forefront in introducing the concept of eco friendly and sustainable tourism in the North West of Ireland and their policies have increased the number of green homes throughout the region.

I came here for a summer job 20 years ago and never left!! This 2008 with help from the Greenbox I now run courses and activities in my new eco barn on Orchard Acre Farm. Traditional and modern Craft, food and cookery, music and culture and tipee holidays. We love living and sharing our way of life…in harmony with nature and our local community.
