I have a sneaking suspicion that we don’t really need solar shavers but I’ve featured a couple of them here for you serial manscapers who don’t want to plug-in or do most of your personal grooming in your Miata convertible. I have seen no testimonials from users and I have to presume that these shavers may struggle to cut through real nasty man-brush but will probably give you a nice Miami Vice-Ricardo Tubbs-shadow circa 1984.

Ireland’s Greenbox is a great ecotourism destination surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Shannon Erne Waterway and Lough Erne. The Greenbox has unspoiled, natural landscapes, unique ecosystems, learning centers, and off shore islands.
Among many other things, the Greenbox promotes environmental sustainability in order to minimize the impact on the environment, as well as conservation and promotion of the local economy. The area is being continually developed to meet ecotourism standards and to improve, in conjunction with many environmental enterprises and ecotourism products.

Several years ago, a disturbing trend began in young Hollywood: the live, tiny dog as an accessory for the disgustingly rich, talent-challenged, media-starved vixens of our celebrity culture (Paris, Lindsey, Nicole Ritchie, etc.) The unsettling thing about this is that, although most of us recognize how ridiculous a little inbred Chihuahua looks peeking out of one’s cleavage at a red carpet event, the trend amongst celebrities has created a demand among the common folk and caused a surge in illegal dog smuggling from eastern Europe.

Even the art world is putting an eco spin on events. This year’s Artexpo New York the world’s largest fine and popular art fair, will feature several artists’ exhibits “inspired by an appreciation for the environment.” Never been? Give it a whirl. You just might enjoy yourself. (Note to self: wear comfortable shoes.)

L.A. based Environment Furniture Inc. designs some pretty great looking furniture for a wide range of consumer tastes. The relatively new company boasts that it has an impressive array of believers, including interior designers and architects. The flagship retail store, ERA, is located in HD Buttercup in Los Angeles. The Peroba Collection (we’ve featured a few pix), combines 100 year-old reclaimed wood from Parana, Brazil and a diverse array of new materials, (recycled/harvested wood has already become a recognized trademark of the company).

While an indoor cat enjoys a life averaging 12 years long, his outdoor counter-kitty lives only 3-5 years amid many risks. That’s why it’s a shame that I was unable to find a safe, organic collar. While organic wool and cotton collars abound, few of these had a break-away function in case Kitty gets caught in a tree or bush, and even fewer had reflectors to keep Kitty visible to cars.
Weighing the safety of your cat against the safety of the environment, I found this alternative: The OmniPet Reflective Fish Cat Collar, which has reflective little mice and paw print images, and a break-away function. Available in purple, blue, black, and red at only $4.99, these cute collars may not be organic or recycled, but they are distributed by responsible Marshall Grain Co., “Nature’s Merchant Since 1946.”
Marshall Grain Co specializes in organic gardening. While you’re picking up a new collar, tell them you’d like to see more pet products from organic or recycled materials.
To balance out your nonorganic collar quotient, give kitty a kick with this organic catnip while you’re there.
