These shirts are made in the USA from 100% organic cotton, grown without pesticides and harmful fertilizers and from non-genetically altered seeds. Better still, for every one you purchase Interwoven donates a shirt to reStart, a Kansas City-based homeless advocacy group. Keeping it local and showing some real style.

This is about design. I love the look of this snack set by Sweden’s Sagaform. I hope this comes with instructions. For all you sticklers, I’m calling this ‘reusable’.

Love the rain but hate getting wet? Grab a green bumper shoot and go for a lovely stroll instead of darting frantically from one awning to the next.

Not for the faint of kitsch, this eco fashion accessory will certainly turn some heads at your next car show or breweriana convention. The recycled rubber belt is fastened by an authentic seatbelt buckle and adorned with beer bottle caps from bars and breweries around the Pittsburgh, PA area.
The term ‘fashion-forward’ takes a u-turn.

The water supply crisis is not just a third world issue. Nevada’s Lake Mead, the largest man-made lake and reservoir in the U.S., could go dry by 2021, according to a pair of scientists at the Scripp’s Institute of Oceanography in San Diego, California. If human-induced climate change and water usage continues at the present rate, or even slower, there is a 50% chance the lake will go dry in coming years – and sooner, rather than later. The Colorado River’s water is being consumed far beyond a sustainable level. (more…)

I’m swept up by the good karma wave of today’s conservation awareness effort. Who knew the Big Turn-off would be such a turn-on? In light of tonight’s event, I’ll be participating on a very local level, even though my hometown of NYC is not officially taking part. I hope that wherever you are, you do, too.
An admitted candleholic, I’m prepared to make a striking statement of the glowing kind. Romance and intimacy may be the order of the night — firing up those eco torches of light, made from 100% beeswax or soy, with cotton wicks of course.
Not sure yet exactly what the night will entail…could keep it retro, and have an intimate game of cards — Crazy 8’s to kick things off, poker to end. Could keep it calm and quiet, with essential oils and a relaxing massage with my Prince of Darkness. The thing is, this worldwide, eco dance of darkness need not take place but once a year. Follow your green heart. Lights Out at 8…see you then!
