As the world gets smaller, products need to last longer, if not a lifetime. Lastra, designed by RMK Design Office, is a sustainable table light that can last up to 25 years without changing a bulb. The lamp utilizes high flux LED technology integrated into a printed circuit board that allows the warm white LED light to perform to the highest standards.
The warm white LEDs are Luxeon Emitter power source, energy efficient (1W each) and ultra compact, combining the lifetime and reliability advantages of Light Emitting Diodes with the brightness of conventional lighting. Advances in LED production and design are addressing the traditional LED disadvantages of price, light quality and focus.
Some facts on LEDs:
- last up to 100,000 hours (equivalent to 25 years) - fluorescent tubes typically are rated at about 10,000 hours, incandescent bulbs at 1000-2000 hours
- LEDs produce more light per watt than incandescent bulbs
- an LED uses as little as one-seventh the energy as an incandescent bulb
