I don’t know about you, but I like to mow my own lawn. I even do a good chunk of the hilly landscape with my People Powered hand mower. This new version of the Automower Solar Hybrid may be the future of mechanized lawncare, and it’s both frightening and a little beautiful. Designed by Sweden’s Husqvarna, for use in those lovely European and English gardens.

90% of the Automower is recyclable, it has zero emissions and burns as much electricity as a standard lightbulb. It’ll run you around £2,000. Boundary cables define the mowable area. Find out more here.

Husqvarna had tried this mower several years ago and it flopped. Maybe with rising gas prices it will do better? It still has to go back to the charging base every 45 mintues to charge for 45 minutes.
I hear LawnBott is working on a competely solar powered docking station. The mower itself will not be solor powered.
In other words, it will be totally free of need for household current.
Robot mower companies are really going Green.
Friendly Robotics makes a less expensive and more capable machine as well. It is the leader when it comes to automated lawn mowing. They have been around since before the turn of the century too!
