Non-Toxic Nail Polish and Remover: the Search Continues!

Oh, the things women do for beauty! We poison ourselves with lead-based makeup and nail polish that often contains formaldehyde and a carcinogenic, dibutyl phthalate. But these simple pleasures keep us feeling pampered and pretty, and we should seek alternatives to this necessity because - like gasoline - nail polish has become a commodity. Furthermore, toxic nail polish removers go hand in hand with polish; both toxins are needed for a well-manicured look!
Recent scouting unearthed several companies looking to debunk this dynamic duo with non-toxic products that require less abrasive removal strategies. Honeybee Gardens Watercolors Nail Enamel is non-solvent based and can be removed with simple rubbing alcohol or even vodka - no acetone needed!
Ulew, a natural cosmetics company, offers non-toxic, water based nail polish, which can be wiped clean with their natural polish remover. Similarly, Acquarella Polish markets stylish nail polish that dries in three minutes and can be removed with the company’s own nail polish remover.
So, if you are searching for less toxic methods of removal, start first by reducing the toxicity of the polish, and thereby eliminate the need for acetone-based removers.

No problem!
I have been trying to be a lot more healthy and was not aware of the chemicals in nail polish and was curious if it was poisonous so researched some web sites and found out that it in fact very poisonous. I am looking for alternative nail polish and remover and also makeup that is organic and natural and not poisonous so please e-mail me as to what you have available. Thank you Mary Anderson
