solar sun rings – heat pool conserve water

solarsunrings1.jpgI am not a pool guy but I do know people here in the northeast who have unheated pools and struggle to use them early in the summer swimming season. With propane getting expensive and water getting scarce the hunt for solutions is at hand.

The Solar Sun Ring is designed to capture 50% of the sun’s rays and convert them to heat. Each ring is 60″ in diameter and produces roughly 21,000 btu’s per day. The rings can also prevent evaporation and are designed with space around each ring to allow for absorption of direct sunlight to prevent algae, and to heat the deeper water. The rings connect via magnets that will easily separate to ensure drunken party guests will not get trapped underneath if they fall into the covered pool.

Note: You need a lot of these to cover a pool. Ring calculator.

5 or more go for $29.99 each @ poolproducts.com or snag 34 for $680 @ poolsupplyworld.com (blue only)
