akaight1.jpgMaybe it was propelled by Klein’s “nothing comes between me and my Calvins,” but we Americans have an enduring love affair with denim. Jackets, shirts and jeans have become an essential in our wardrobes, vital threads woven into the fabric of our times.

A year ago, I picked up a couple of pairs of organic cotton jeans from Kaight’s, and they feel great. Softer than conventionally grown cotton jeans, but just as durable. I still wear the conventional faves from years ago, but prefer the feel of organic cotton.

Kaight’s has an eco denim sale going on now. Designer organic cotton goods can be a little pricey, but they’re comfy and they’ll last.

akght2.jpgL.A.-based, Denim Revival is a vintage denim store that’s been around for years. They will alter and repair whatever coveted brand of denim you may want to re-fashion. Their website is under construction, but you can use the good ol’ telly (323.852.0171) or email (denimrevival@yahoo.com) for more info. The lovely Andra McDevitt is one of the store owners. They’re located at: 8044 W. 3rd St., L.A., CA 90048.
