New Zealand based, technical outdoor apparel maker, Icebreaker takes its pursuit of sustainability very seriously.   The company designs and manufactures high-end outdoor wear from sustainable Merino fiber harvested from sheep grazing high in New Zealand’s mountains.

Icebreaker recently announced the introduction of its Baacode, a traceability system to enable customers to follow their garments through every step of the production process.

Icebreaker garments will have an internal label bearing a unique Baacode number. A swingtag will tell customers how to enter their individual Baacode on the Icebreaker website and trace the merino fibre in their garment through to the sheep stations where it was grown.  Kinda cool.

The company makes cutting-edge outdoor apparel for those mountain climbing, bike riding, cross country running-types who can’t get enough of the outdoors and need gear that is designed to be sustainable in both performance and construction.  Good stuff.
