After comparing the two, I think I like the Solar Beam I best for my purposes. I like the built-in battery and how compact it is. Both have the tip for the cell phone I use so that is all good. Thanks…these are really nice.
They both look great but if I had to choose I would pick the Solar Beam III because of the ultra-brightness (the brighter the better!). Thank you for the giveaway!

They are both very nice and would make great camping lights or for when my power goes out! I couldn’t tell which one lasts longer. I says after fully charged the light will last for 60 hours using 1 LED and III said 6.5 hours after only 1 hour of charging time. So I guess I can’t compare the two on that front. Since III includes ‘emergency use’ as one of its functions I have to go with III. Thanks for the giveaway!

Both lights are very appealing in design and use; however, the Solar Beam III is better-suited for my needs. Its thinness and solar power is more convenient to me.
If I had a choice between the two flashlights I’d choose Solar Beam III. Its more powerful plus it has 3 panels to get the full positioning of the sun.Both have cell phone recharge which is great. Solar Beam III does not have the a/c adapter, but the idea is to go full board by using the sun for power,so I’m for the Solar BeamIII for an environmentally sound item.

The Solar Beam III because of the higher max charging power.
I would have to go with the solarbeam III just because it has three solar panels and would charge faster in the sun (both the light itself and a cell phone) the only problem is that it can’t charge with DC like the solarbeam I if there is no sun (say at night…). I’d still go with solarbeam III though, because having a solar flashlight that charges through a wall outlet kinda defeats the purpose…
I like the Solar Beam III the best. It has three panels to capture the sun. I rarely use my car to charge anything so I don’t need that feature of the Solar Beam I.
I’d have to say the Solar Beam I would be my pick because of the adapter as well as the overall design.

Hum, this is a hard choice. I like both but I think after reading about both that I would like the Solar Beam 1 best for our needs. I like the style of the grip and it just looks like it would be more comfortable fitting for our hands. Regardless though both items would be handy and it really was a hard choice to make.

I like the Solar Beam I because the Solar Beam III, while very cool, has too many movable parts. Our family needs something simple and sturdy.
Solar Beam 1 probably does as well as th other and is less costly. I am skeptical about either one of them…I have tried some solar gadgetry and with minimal success. You have to incorporate the “care and feeding” of these things constantly to have them charged and ready! You can’t just throw them in the cornere and pull them out when you need them…
I think the Solar Beam III is a miracle. One that will prove more and more useful as our weather patterns continue to destabilize. Just leave it lying in the sun and you can light the dark and phone for help.

It’s amazing how quickly technology is adapting. Sign me up for the Solar Beam III!
My husband does mobile computer repair, so he is always in need of a flashlight when looking into computer cases, under desks, or in dark server closets. He usually forgets to replace the batteries and winds up with a few kicking around his car. A self charging one would save us a small bundle in rechargeable batteries.
The added bonus of a cellular battery charger and a real value is keeping in touch while out in the wilds. We love camping and boating, but carrying chargers or remembering to grab a few spare quick (d costly)recharge packs can be a pain. This is a echo friendly alternative will save space, energy, and electronic waste!

I think I like the Solar Beam III a little bit more because it looks more powerful. It says it is 65,000 MCD as apposed to 60,000 MCD that the Solar Beam I has.
I like Solar Beam 1 because it has a longer lighting time when fully charged.
Both are really great lights. If I have to choose I would pick the Solar Beam III due to how bright it is.

Solar Beam III
I like them both. I like the III because it has 3 solar panels to charge. I think it’s just the neatest that i charges off the sun. To me that seems so advanced not having to depend on electricity and a wall outlet. I like the flashlight part because you just never know what could happen and i’d rather have some thing that i know i could out in a bind.
I like the Solar Beam ! because of its strong light and larger design my husband would be more comfortable with. What an incredible thing to have. If you got stuck somewhere you would never be out of touch as long as you were in cell phone areas.

After going through Hurricane Katrina, I’ve decided that we need a solar beam flashlight. Our regular flashlights were not powerful enough to be of any real use. We didn’t have electricity for 10 days and I don’t want to be left in the dark again. I would pick the Solar Beam III because the emergency use is a great function to have. But, I would be happy with either one of these great flashlights.

During Hurricane Wilma when we were without electricity for over two weeks, we could have used the Solar Beam III.
The most attractive feature of the III is that it has 3 solar charging modes,
During hurricane season, the AC/DC adapter on the Solar Beam I might not even be an option.
If we were to lose our power again, an electric charger would do us no good.
So the solar panels on the Solar Beam III are a great idea.
I think that every household in hurricane or tornado prone areas should own one of these.
