I’ve been test-driving the Ridley plastic bag carrier for the past couple of weeks; it’s a great way to bring your own bag.
You know how you intend to always bring your reusable bags into the market but sometimes forget? Or you intend to just pick up a couple of items, so you bring only one bag into the market, and then need to supplement with the store’s plastic or paper bag because you pick up more items than will fit in your reusable bag? Aaaargh. As much as I hate to admit it, this has happened to me and it drives me crazy. (more…)
Technology and design march on. Sanyo’s new Eneloop solar light can illuminate a small room, tent, light the trail ahead or charge your cell phone via its USB port if you’re off-grid. The light is ‘splash’ resistant, contains and internal rechargeable battery, has 4 different LED lighting modes and an AC adapter if need a quick charge.

This is the only fabric shower curtain that doesn’t require a toxic (what’s that smell?) vinyl or plastic liner. This curtain takes advantage of hemp’s natural resistance to bacteria and fungus. It will get wet and need to air dry. And the manufacturer suggests an occasional washing, but hey, no plastic liner.
100% tightly woven hemp so that H2O won’t seep through.
