I’m reusing my grocery bags and recycling everything possible!!
My family and I have completely switched our laundry and all cleaning supplies to green. (yes no fabric softner! that was the hardest for me) we use lots of vinegar, it dries and the smell goes away, our towels absorb more too! We recycle as much as possible and we use a water conservation kit on all of our sinks and in our toilets too! I am sure I am leaving tons of stuff out, but we did a major overhaul to make our lives feel greener and healthier. It worked!
thanks for this giveaway! what a generous prize!
Cloth bags for shopping-changing lightbulbs-mowing less often-carpooling/or making one trip to do all our errands-using new green cleaners-recycling everything we can-thanks for a great giveaway!
We have three children who are all under the age of three, none of whom are potty-trained. (I know, I know, I’m working on it) So we go through a tremendous amount of diapers, and that is why we use nothing but cloth diapers. People might think that it would be a lot of extra work, but it’s really not. Also, our kids have never had any diaper rashes, which just amazes my pediatrician. We save money, and we feel very good about not contributing to our already over-burdened landfills.
We use plastic grocery bags for trash can liners, use the squiggly light bulbs, try not to drive if not necessary!
I am no longer excepting plastic bags at any of the stores I shop at. I make my own totes out of old clothes for myself and my family also. I also make my own Christmas Wrap from scrap of cloth and clothing from resale shops or even hand me downs that dont fit any of us. Not only am I saving the enviroment but I am also learning to relax by sewing.
We recycle cans and use cloth bags for shopping.
Recycling everything I can.

We can only make a difference if we try.
We use as little lighting as possible, use paper products vs. plastic and use a pooper scooper for our dog instead of plastic bags.
We have an electric car, are getting solar, and recycle everything!
We’re getting solar, use very little electircity or gas, recycle nearly everything, and just bought a 100% electric car!
We try and conserve energy as much as possible. Don’t use plastic bags for shopping. Use natual cleaners.

4)Consume a lot less animal products.
5)Cloth bags all the way!
Funny thing is, I’ve been this way for a long time, and now it’s commonplace. I’m so glad!
We recycle as much as we can, we use cloth bags instead of getting the plastic bags. We have a condenser dryer so when we empty the water from it, we use that to water our plants.
We recycle everything we can, also compost any vegetable matter. The paper shredder does double duty-packing material and mulching material.
I will be green with envy if someone other than myself wins this nice vacuum cleaner.
I’m walking more, recycling everything, and I haven’t brought home a plastic bag in ages
We use cloth diapers, eco-friendly detergent and dry our clothes outside. We also bring our own reusable bags when shopping, recycle as much as we can, have a chem-free yard, are part of a local organic farm share, grow our own organic veggies and can them, use glass containers and paper bags instead of plastic baggies for storing & lunches, etc…..the list is pretty long:)
I stopped using plastic bags and my family uses all natural cleaning supplies.
I have reduced my time in the car drastically, one trip to do all errands, using energy efficient light bulbs, and recycling as much as possible.
My family and I recycle , We put solar film on all our windows to help keep heat out/in. Use green products when possible. changed our light bulbs.. bought a new energy efficient washer.. We carpool and hardly drive anywhere unless we have too!! we buy organic when possible and donate to green charities!!
We have been going green for some time starting with recycling. We now compost, have changed our light bulbs, take cloth bags to the store, use more earth friendly soaps. Every small change has a hugh impact!
We have started using the reusable totes at all stores. We planted our first garden this year and buy local as much as possible. We also are in the market for a hybrid vehicle.
I am knitting tote bags and doggy pooper bags out of plastic bags and the twine off of hay bales. I also recycle like crazy!
I unplug and swich off the lights if not using the room.
My family recycles, we use biodegradable poop bags for the dog, we use cloth bags, we reuse when possible, carpool, use public transit, walk a lot, buy locally grown produce and products that are made sustainably.
We’ve been recycling bottles, cans and paper for many years now. I’m also using cloth grocery bags.
We use exclusive ‘green’ cleaning products made with the best of science and nature and re-use plastic, paper, cardboard wherever possible. We also utilize our local freecycle message boards to swap things with others in our area.
I consolidate my errands into one trip, and with other people. I use cloth bags when whopping and buy in bulk.
Our family has made a number of changes to live more green: we recycle nearly everything that comes into the house, donate old clothes rather than tossing them into the trash, use canvas bags at the grocery/drugstores, etc. We also moved closer to where I work so my commute has gone from 1 hour each way to 15 minutes.
My vaccuum died a year and a half ago. I can’t afford to buy another one and haven’t been able to since my old one died. I was laid off work the first week of June and still haven’t found another job. My birthday was the 1st. This would make a great birthday gift.
Thank you so much for this wonderful giveaway. To go green, my family and I are now using canvas shopping totes instead of plastic bags. We also changed all our light bulbs to the energy saving bulbs. In addition, we also have been doing all our errands at one time, to help save fuel.
Thanks so much for offering this giveaway. What an awesome prize!
When it rains I put out my mop bucket to catch the rain so in a few days when my potted plants need h2o I use what God gave us. Does it getting any greener than green?

I’ve nearly completed a full remodel with all new energy-efficient appliances. This Envirovac would fit right in!
Sure do need this…I am trying to do my apartment with unplugging and also the usage of water.
Thanks. Still more to do.
We no longer use plastic bags I bought a bunch of canvas bags. We don’t use paper napkins we use cloth napkins and we also are composting our food.
We use cloth bags when able but reuse other bags for trash bags. One of the many ways we are going green
We do many small things to go green. I use cloth shopping bags instead of plastic, we turn off lights and TVs when we don’t need them on, we recycle cans, and we switched paper towels with cloth napkins. I’ve just recently found green cleaning products that I like, so I am working on switching my normal cleaners with them.
I’m actually turning off my computer when it’s not being used as well as starting to carry around those reusable grocery bags… I actually like them better, I’m just forgetful!

Burning wood pellets!
Hanging laundry outside on clothesline
We ride our bikes for quick trips to the store and try to consolidate trips in the car. Basically the car is used just to go to work. I have a few energy saving light bulbs and plan to replace all the bulbs at some point. I have hardly ever used a great deal of chemicals for cleaning and prefer vinegar and water, baking soda and lemon juice to replace harsh chemicals. We use a recycle bin for plastic bottles and such and reuse as many things as possible. We try to conserve on electricity, water, gas, not only to consume less but also to save money. Next year, I plan to do a vegetable garden.
I use my own cloth bags when shopping. I recycle everything possible. If I can’t recycle, I use freecycle. I hang out clothes instead of using the dryer. I use green cleaner, mostly vinegar and baking soda. I would love to start worm composting.
I have been using tote bags instead of plastic bags. On weekend we bike ride to the park instead of driving and we are recycle more.

We have been making a real effort to go green. We recycle everything that we can; no longer buy bottled water; reuse bags and things that we would normally just throw away. I bought four of those reuseable grocery bags which I love.
we go hiking once a weeek and clean up trash.
I shop the local farmers’ markets for local faire. A treat when I was a kid was going to the local fruit and vegetable stands with my mom, and deciding which recipes we would make once we got the produce home. She and my grandmother also taught me to compost produce scraps, and to grow fruit trees and vegetable plants on our property. They also taught me to wash dishes in a dishpan and discard the water outside at the base of trees or bushes. They taught me how to conserve fuel in the home while cooking, and to shut out the lights when leaving a room as well. In order to save gasoline, I line up errands in the same vicinity to accomplish on one trip, instead of making several trips in my car.
We recycle
We’ve begun using green household cleaning products, are doing more recycling, using reusable totes for shopping, and more efficient light bulbs and appliances
too many to name

We have parked the F350 and either drive the hybrid, ride bikes, or use our two feet.
Well…I tried a compost pile but the people in the apartment building complained about the smell….
Unplug all appliances that are not in use (microwave and coffee pot etc.)
Besides recycling I have stopped using bottled water. I now filter my water and use stainless steel reuseable water bottles to take along.
We try to do a lot of things that are green. One thing that we are doing differently with our third child is making the switch to cloth diapers and wipes. It’s been an adjustment, but I am feeling so much better about using cloth!
Bought reusable grocery bags and dont do plastic bags anymore

I recycle plastic, glass, metal, paper, etc. I shop with canvas bags. Reuse containers, packing, etc. and use it for arts and crafts for my students.
We live in a very small house 594 square feet, very energy efficient, we use the eco friendly light bulbs, shop with canvas totes, grow what we can, use energy appliances, I’d really like to get solar panels and a wind mill but those are costly right now
I live with 4 roommates 3 cats and 4 dogs this would be a god send to our house

We’ve replaced all our light bulbs to compact fluorescents, we use cloth diapers with baby #4 (a HUGE change for me!) and I use only laundry/washing/cleaning products that are phosphate free, organic and good for both us AND the environment.
The biggest thing we’ve done though, is raising four little boys that truly care about our world and our environment. For them all of this is what is SUPPOSED to be done. It is not unusual or a burden. We hope they will pass this on to their kids thus making the biggest impact of all.

We recycle our cans, which is a lot of cans. lol We use the energy efficient light bulbs for all of our lights. The biggest thing we’ve started doing is instead of buying bottles of flavored water we now buy the little flavor packs (crystal light, etc.)for water. It doesn’t seem like much but we’ve really started paying attention to our waste and want to do as much about it as possible so we will be adding to this. Thank you!!
I am making my own home cleaning products. For example, here’s a recipe for a natural home cleaning product. It is easy to make, safe for the family and contains no toxic ingredients. It is a Creamy Soft Scrubber. You simply pour about 1/2 cup of baking soda into a bowl, and add enough liquid detergent to make a texture like frosting. Scoop the mixture onto a sponge, and wash the surface. This is the perfect recipe for cleaning the bathtub because it rinses easily and doesn’t leave grit. Add 1 teaspoon of vegetable glycerin to the mixture and store in a sealed glass jar, to keep the product moist. Otherwise just make as much as you need at a time. I have been using this for the past 3 months or so and it works fabulously!
To minimize fuel use and related expenses, nearly all of our driving is on a direct route that includes not only work but also the majority of our other driving habits; i.e., shopping, banking, etc. That was one of the criteria used in selecting our home…

I use outdoor rainwater to water my indoor plants.
We’ve been working for years on making small and consistent changes to be more green. Our latest household change is the elimation of juice boxes. They are so convienent for the little one’s lunch boxes and trips, but I really don’t like the waste. We’ve been through a number of different travel cups to find one that doesn’t leak all over the lunch box and back pack, but we’ve finally found great ones that fit well in the lunch boxes

I am cutting my watering with sprinklers to 2 times a week! I am using reusable bags for grocery shopping.
We use fluorescent bulbs and turn off almost all of our appliances when we’re not using them. For example, we don’t leave the computer on when we’re not home. We recycle our aluminum cans (which is also pretty profitable right now). We don’t flush every time to conserve water. We both work downtown, so we use one car, try to combine errands to other parts of town, and we walk whenever we can. I walked from work to another business to deliver something one day and the two women in the office looked at me like I was crazy! It was just a few blocks.

Just a start!
We are replacing things with better options- bags, lightbulbs, even my new computer is a hybrid made from recycled parts.
Recyling and using green cleaning products.
I have done the usual things, switched light bulbs, save energy in the home, and use green products; however, I also live on a farm and we raise our own beef, chickens, and pigs without hormones. We also raise a garden and eat from that fresh and can what is left. We also have a well for water and collect rainwater for personal use in the home. I hope to have solar panels soon and recycle more though.

Hi I try to compost.
By reducing reusing and recycling whatever we can .. empty water jugs, plastic bags from the store, cans, newspapers, etc.
Definately the easiest change has been only using cloth bags but I also try to avoid fast food (all that garbage AND all those calories).
We gave up paper napkins, using cloth only. We also use a high-efficiency washer and dryer.

We recycle as much as possible. I try to remember my cloth bags when I go shopping but when I don’t I use the plastic ones as liners for the waste baskets. I combine errands and shop on the way to or from work. All my light bulbs are CFL and I’m trying to find a green detergent that I really like.
In addition to composting and recycling, I’m trying to grow a lot more of my own vegetables and purchase more items seconds hand. Thanks!
I switched to Green trash bags. They work just as well as regular plastic trash bags but they are biodegradable with in two years without any chemicals or ick left behind. The trash bags are currently found online and are about to go to regular grocery stores soon I hope!!

I am becoming vacuum cleaner educated.
Recycling everything WE can.
Recycling more and driving a lot less.
“Kudos” to everyone who is going greener. Living in an apartment gives me more restrictions than being a home owner but this does not discourage me. I have switched from bottle water to filtered water from the faucet, changed out lightbulbs in my home, using greener cleaning supplies, and going down to a two car family to a one car family. I also have carried this over to my students in my classroom. We recycle what we can at school, use less paper by using back and front, and making consumerable workbooks into non-consumerable workbooks. Future plans include making my grocery bags out of old clothes.
I want to thank you so much for the giveaway. I NEVER win anything, so this is a special joy. Plus my resolve to get serious about reuse, reducing, and recycling has been strengthened by this win. I will spread the word, and try to make a difference in this corner of our universe! Thanks again.
