We began mowing our grass using a manual push reel mower. No noise, no fumes, no gas and a very good workout.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I use outdoor rainwater to water my indoor plants.
We’ve been working for years on making small and consistent changes to be more green. Our latest household change is the elimation of juice boxes. They are so convienent for the little one’s lunch boxes and trips, but I really don’t like the waste. We’ve been through a number of different travel cups to find one that doesn’t leak all over the lunch box and back pack, but we’ve finally found great ones that fit well in the lunch boxes
I’m returning all those “paper or plastic” plastic bags back to the grocery store.
We recycle out cans, plastics, grocery bags, and paper. We use natural cleaning ingredients, and watch our electric consumption.
We bicycle as much as possible!
We compost and cut out most meat from our diet.
I bring my own canvas bag to the grocery store. No paper or plastic for me!

We have changed all of our light bulbs and replaced our windows. On a daily basis, we recycle and power off all electronics and appliances.
Recycle first and formost. I also bring my own totes to go shopping, they are reusable.
and my pet peeve, I do not buy things with plastic rings holdig them together.
We buy or take only what we’ll use, less waste!
We do a lot around here – recycling, cloth diapering, eating organically and locally, among others. Most recently we made the switch to reusable shopping bags – it just took me forever to remember them!
buying used instead of new
i recycle, buy organic products, use energy efficient lightblubs, and try to use less water! i try to do anything i can do really because i think it’s very important!

Along with recycling and reusing, we’ve focused on reduce. For example, we’re more aware of what we purchase such as making sure it has less packaging, it’s a quality product that will last for a long time.
We’re very big on recycling all cans, bottles, etc. We also conserve energy and water as much as possible by doing things such as washing dishes by hand and only having necessary lights on.
I am cutting my watering with sprinklers to 2 times a week! I am using reusable bags for grocery shopping.
We use fluorescent bulbs and turn off almost all of our appliances when we’re not using them. For example, we don’t leave the computer on when we’re not home. We recycle our aluminum cans (which is also pretty profitable right now). We don’t flush every time to conserve water. We both work downtown, so we use one car, try to combine errands to other parts of town, and we walk whenever we can. I walked from work to another business to deliver something one day and the two women in the office looked at me like I was crazy! It was just a few blocks.
i reuse everything!
We recycle and buy recycled or used when available.
I use my own canvas bags for shopping and I also only use my car one day a week and consolidate all of my errands in one vicinity.
I’m walking to the bank, post office, ect instead of driving the 2 mile round trip.
Stopped using paper plates.
We bought new front-loading wash machine; switched all our lights to energy efficient; resealed our doors & windows & installed ashowerhead with a mid-stream shut off so you can turn off the water while you shampoo.
Oh… and I now commute to work by bus! the car stays at home….
RECYCLE
We recycle everything we can, use Shaklee cleaning products, and plan errands to use as little gas as possible.
I’m using a reusable shopping bag.
…we have parked the car in the garage and use it only one day a week; the other six days we either bicycle or take the bus to get around.
Recycling and re-using, using less gas and electricity, picking up litter, growing more of our own food. Thank you for the chance to win this great prize!
We use reusable grocery bags, recycle everything we can, and use green cleaning products.

We’ve switched out all of the bulbs in our house and don’t use any lights during the day. We also re-use grocery bags and recycle everything.

Reusable grocery bags
I love to hang my clothes out. It saves energy, and they smell so fresh when they are dry.
I’ve changed out all my light bulbs and recycle everything I can.
I bought cloth grocery bags and stopped using paper & plastic.
I bought a bicycle to avoid driving as much as I used to; made a greater effort to buy energy efficient light bulbs and green cleaning products; replaced my cases of plastic bottled water with a single aluminum water bottle; campaigned with a local organization to improve recycling efforts in my community and organized a cooperative recycling effort in my apartment building; and started using a canvas shopping bag at the grocery. Just a start!
We are replacing things with better options- bags, lightbulbs, even my new computer is a hybrid made from recycled parts. :)
Recyling and using green cleaning products.
I have done the usual things, switched light bulbs, save energy in the home, and use green products; however, I also live on a farm and we raise our own beef, chickens, and pigs without hormones. We also raise a garden and eat from that fresh and can what is left. We also have a well for water and collect rainwater for personal use in the home. I hope to have solar panels soon and recycle more though.
We recycle everything possible. We compost. We use organic cleaners and laundry detergents. We use the new energy efficient light bulbs. I am always planting flowers, shrubs and trees, preferably native species, and I only use organic fertilizers.
I buy recycled clothes.
We reuse our grocery bags. We switched to the energy saving light bulbs. I use cold water to do laundry, as much as possible. I’m trying to use cloth towels instead of paper. I drive as little as possible. Thank you!
Seems like a great way to stay “green” from a manufacturer
