I’m reusing my grocery bags and recycling everything possible!!
My family and I have completely switched our laundry and all cleaning supplies to green. (yes no fabric softner! that was the hardest for me) we use lots of vinegar, it dries and the smell goes away, our towels absorb more too! We recycle as much as possible and we use a water conservation kit on all of our sinks and in our toilets too! I am sure I am leaving tons of stuff out, but we did a major overhaul to make our lives feel greener and healthier. It worked!

We have three children who are all under the age of three, none of whom are potty-trained. (I know, I know, I’m working on it) So we go through a tremendous amount of diapers, and that is why we use nothing but cloth diapers. People might think that it would be a lot of extra work, but it’s really not. Also, our kids have never had any diaper rashes, which just amazes my pediatrician.We save money, and we feel very good about not contributing to our already over-burdened landfills.
We use plastic grocery bags for trash can liners, use the squiggly light bulbs, try not to drive if not necessary!
I am no longer excepting plastic bags at any of the stores I shop at. I make my own totes out of old clothes for myself and my family also. I also make my own Christmas Wrap from scrap of cloth and clothing from resale shops or even hand me downs that dont fit any of us. Not only am I saving the enviroment but I am also learning to relax by sewing.

Funny thing is, I’ve been this way for a long time, and now it’s commonplace. I’m so glad!
We recycle as much as we can, we use cloth bags instead of getting the plastic bags. We have a condenser dryer so when we empty the water from it, we use that to water our plants.
We recycle everything we can, also compost any vegetable matter. The paper shredder does double duty-packing material and mulching material.

We use cloth diapers, eco-friendly detergent and dry our clothes outside. We also bring our own reusable bags when shopping, recycle as much as we can, have a chem-free yard, are part of a local organic farm share, grow our own organic veggies and can them, use glass containers and paper bags instead of plastic baggies for storing & lunches, etc…..the list is pretty long:)

I have reduced my time in the car drastically, one trip to do all errands, using energy efficient light bulbs, and recycling as much as possible.
My family and I recycle , We put solar film on all our windows to help keep heat out/in. Use green products when possible. changed our light bulbs.. bought a new energy efficient washer.. We carpool and hardly drive anywhere unless we have too!! we buy organic when possible and donate to green charities!!
We have been going green for some time starting with recycling. We now compost, have changed our light bulbs, take cloth bags to the store, use more earth friendly soaps. Every small change has a hugh impact!
We have started using the reusable totes at all stores. We planted our first garden this year and buy local as much as possible. We also are in the market for a hybrid vehicle.
I am knitting tote bags and doggy pooper bags out of plastic bags and the twine off of hay bales. I also recycle like crazy!

My family recycles, we use biodegradable poop bags for the dog, we use cloth bags, we reuse when possible, carpool, use public transit, walk a lot, buy locally grown produce and products that are made sustainably.
We’ve been recycling bottles, cans and paper for many years now. I’m also using cloth grocery bags.
We use exclusive ‘green’ cleaning products made with the best of science and nature and re-use plastic, paper, cardboard wherever possible. We also utilize our local freecycle message boards to swap things with others in our area.
I consolidate my errands into one trip, and with other people. I use cloth bags when whopping and buy in bulk.
Our family has made a number of changes to live more green: we recycle nearly everything that comes into the house, donate old clothes rather than tossing them into the trash, use canvas bags at the grocery/drugstores, etc. We also moved closer to where I work so my commute has gone from 1 hour each way to 15 minutes.
My vaccuum died a year and a half ago. I can’t afford to buy another one and haven’t been able to since my old one died. I was laid off work the first week of June and still haven’t found another job. My birthday was the 1st. This would make a great birthday gift.

When it rains I put out my mop bucket to catch the rain so in a few days when my potted plants need h2o I use what God gave us. Does it getting any greener than green?
We recycle, turn off AC when not at home and during the night, we carpool, walk more and use less water on things we don’t really need.
I recycle, use refillable water bottles, use “green cleaners”, use re-useable bags at the grocery, and I turn off lights and appliances when they are not in use.
I’ve nearly completed a full remodel with all new energy-efficient appliances. This Envirovac would fit right in!

We no longer use plastic bags I bought a bunch of canvas bags. We don’t use paper napkins we use cloth napkins and we also are composting our food.

We do many small things to go green. I use cloth shopping bags instead of plastic, we turn off lights and TVs when we don’t need them on, we recycle cans, and we switched paper towels with cloth napkins. I’ve just recently found green cleaning products that I like, so I am working on switching my normal cleaners with them.
I’m actually turning off my computer when it’s not being used as well as starting to carry around those reusable grocery bags… I actually like them better, I’m just forgetful!

We ride our bikes for quick trips to the store and try to consolidate trips in the car. Basically the car is used just to go to work. I have a few energy saving light bulbs and plan to replace all the bulbs at some point. I have hardly ever used a great deal of chemicals for cleaning and prefer vinegar and water, baking soda and lemon juice to replace harsh chemicals. We use a recycle bin for plastic bottles and such and reuse as many things as possible. We try to conserve on electricity, water, gas, not only to consume less but also to save money. Next year, I plan to do a vegetable garden.
I use my own cloth bags when shopping. I recycle everything possible. If I can’t recycle, I use freecycle. I hang out clothes instead of using the dryer. I use green cleaner, mostly vinegar and baking soda. I would love to start worm composting.

We have been making a real effort to go green. We recycle everything that we can; no longer buy bottled water; reuse bags and things that we would normally just throw away. I bought four of those reuseable grocery bags which I love.

I shop the local farmers’ markets for local faire. A treat when I was a kid was going to the local fruit and vegetable stands with my mom, and deciding which recipes we would make once we got the produce home. She and my grandmother also taught me to compost produce scraps, and to grow fruit trees and vegetable plants on our property. They also taught me to wash dishes in a dishpan and discard the water outside at the base of trees or bushes. They taught me how to conserve fuel in the home while cooking, and to shut out the lights when leaving a room as well. In order to save gasoline, I line up errands in the same vicinity to accomplish on one trip, instead of making several trips in my car.

I switched out my light bulbs for more energy efficient ones. Plus I try to keep the lights of when I’m not in a room. I also use are plastic grocery bags as garbage bags in the bathroom.
Have switched all bulbs to CFLs and recycle — which is a commitment because they don’t do home pickups in my town.
We use low energy light bulbs, recycle, use SIGG bottles to reduce plastic use and keep our thermastat at 78.

Besides recycling I have stopped using bottled water. I now filter my water and use stainless steel reuseable water bottles to take along.
We try to do a lot of things that are green. One thing that we are doing differently with our third child is making the switch to cloth diapers and wipes. It’s been an adjustment, but I am feeling so much better about using cloth!

I do not drive, even though I have a valid driver’s license, I been riding a bicycle. I’ at over 4900 mile this year so far. Also we use the florecent bulbs.
I recycle plastic, glass, metal, paper, etc. I shop with canvas bags. Reuse containers, packing, etc. and use it for arts and crafts for my students.
We live in a very small house 594 square feet, very energy efficient, we use the eco friendly light bulbs, shop with canvas totes, grow what we can, use energy appliances, I’d really like to get solar panels and a wind mill but those are costly right now

I’m really taking into account all the products we use and switching to non-disposable items, items with little to no packaging, etc.
I walk everywhere, living in town saves us money and on the environment. I always hang dry my laundry even in the winter I hand it in the house. most of my household cleaners are environmentally sensitive. I reuse anything I can possibly use.

Trying lots of “green” products. Using a lot more baking soda for cleaning. Washing and reusing my zip–lock bags several times. Always re-use my plastic grocery bags. Have purchased several reusable shopping bags.
We use rain barrels for our vegetable gardens that are of course, organic, we use compost bins to reduce the amount of garbage, canvas bags for shopping AND we even moved our business home so we no longer use that much gas!! We also switched all of our light bulbs to energy efficient one., I had new windows installed to keep the house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer, we are next looking in to solar panels

i used to drive 10% faster than the posted speed limit. Now I try to stay 10% under. And my fuel economy has gone up about 20%.

My family has been trying to do a lot to stay green. We use the special lightbulbs, no a/c on purpose (except when the heat poses a threat to my one year old.) , we set-up a composte can on our porch so we don’t waste our greens and browns. We recycle at all possibilites. All the arts and crafts I do are out of recycled materials. We don’t take plastic bags from the grocery store we use ones we bring. We also try to give back as many as possible. We also try to stay in the green speeds when driving anywhere.
I have changed all of my bulbs, road my bike to work most days, and I have added more insulation to my home, Oh and I have started useing more eco friendly cleaning products.

I have stopped using paper plates and paper towels!
The biggest change we made has been getting rid of the grass in our yard. We completely removed all the grass and used cinders (a coal by product) to cover the area. We installed stone walkways throughout. No mowing, no watering, no maintenance and we love the way it looks!
I always bring a shopping tote with me rather than use plastic bags. I also bring a tupperware container when I go out to lunch or dinner, in case I want to take something home.
We look for recycled products in the stores like recycled printer paper. We are also recycling bottles/aluminum and slowly replacing our regular light bulbs with energy efficient ones.
Drive less, carpool, clean with vinegar and baking soda, buy less and “free-cycle” what I no longer need.

I have always recycled as I saw my parents doing that growing up. But, now I am switching to less bagging and using cloth bags to avoid getting the recyclable paper/plastic bags in the first place. I am also buying more products that have less packaging.

I got a little zip-up bag at Target that I carry in my purse all of the time. When I make a purchase, I just pull it out and I don’t have to get a plastic bag from the store! It’s also come in quite handy during rainstorms…..I just tuck my expensive purse inside the bag and it stays safe and dry.
