Suki – uber clean skincare

I’m a self-proclaimed product junkie and right now I’m loving Sukí skincare. Sukí products are incredibly clean and pure—you won’t find any parabens, petrochemicals, synthetics, fragrances, dyes or any other questionable ingredients.

While mass consumer brands are loaded with synthetic preservatives, which allow the products to sit unspoiled on drugstore shelves for years, Sukí’s products are all handmade and blended in small batches, then shipped fresh within a month of pouring. My favorite items right now are the Balancing Day Lotion and the Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser with lemongrass extract and sugar, which smells divine and is a great way to wake up your skin in the morning. Suki is definitely brand to be admired, right down to their responsible packaging and shipping methods. Give ‘em a try @

Freshens Ecotainer – the green paper cup

ecotainer_cup_1.jpgYogurt and smoothie maker, Freshens, is introducing what they call, “the first renewable and compostable paper cold cup,” the ecotainer. The new, eco cup uses Polylactic Acid (PLA) to create a water-resistant barrier on the paperboard. PLA is a biopolymer derived from plant sugars.  The company will intro the new cup in select stores in September and at all its doors later in the fall.  Consumers in the United States alone use about 40 billion paper and 25 billion plastic and foam cups every year.

The new cup does cost a little more.
