Okay I admit it. I’m a beauty and skincare junkie, but it has to be green. So when the folks at HollyBeth’s Natural Body Products offered to send a few samples, I was more than ready to give them a try.

Here’s a little background about HollyBeth. First off, she is a real person, (unlike say, Ann Taylor or Laura Ashley) and she lives in Decatur, Georgia. As the story goes, HollyBeth’s passion for homeopathic remedies blossomed into this lovely enterprise, whereby all products in the line are made with certified organic essential oils, free of chemical preservatives and synthetic colorings. In addition, these green goods are handcrafted in artisan batches to ensure freshness and quality.

The collection is currently comprised of: 4 face products, 4 body products and 4 scented candles. I had the pleasure of trying a few samples:
Eye Cream – super rich, just use a tiny bit. It takes hours to penetrate if you use too much. Filled with almond oil and Vitamin E, this cream really soothes and sinks into the delicate area of the skin. I feel like my fine lines gladly drank in the moisture ($30, 1 oz.)
Rose & Geranium Face Moisturizer – use just a tiny bit, it’s extremely rich and hydrating. For my skin type, it was perfect for apply lightly to my face and neck right before hitting the hay. ($30, 2 oz.)
Grits & Honey Facial Scrub – very gritty! Follow the directions to a tee on this one, especially about storing it in a dry place. Before applying you definitely need to mix a small amount with warm water in the palm of your hand, otherwise it felt way too dry and coarse. I made the mistake of storing it by my shower, rather than in a dry place. (mold formed in the jar as a result of my indiscretion.)
Citrus Body Cream – love the texture, scent and effectiveness of this dreamy cream. A real treat. My skin has a tendency to be seriously dry; this beautiful stuff really penetrates and hydrates. ($22, 2 oz.)
LIVE Rosemary and Peppermint Candle – sweet bliss. It’s a hand-poured, all natural soy candle infused with certified organic essential oils, and a cotton wick. light up and float away. ($20, 3oz.)
Flourish – a gentle blend of essential oils, jojoba oil and vitamin E. I’m not a “perfume” person, but this is a refreshing and balanced scent. I could easily wear this every day. ($45, .35 fluid oz.)

The Web site includes a nice description of their product ingredients. If you’re looking for a starter kit or thoughtful present, check out HollyBeth’s Merry Christmas gift collection or Happy Holidays gift set, ($15/each).
