The New American Home creates its most energy efficient home in Las Vegas. This 9,000 square foot contemporary home features: a heating and cooling system that runs on clean-burning natural gas, photovoltaic cells, a solar water-heating system, insulating concrete forms and many other innovative technologies. The contemporary home also includes fountains, pools and a basement-level subterranean courtyard.

The green home is very interesting. Green homes and communities are just as important as green buildings in large cities, and developing these communities will create much needed jobs all across the country. My client, the American Institute of Architects (AIA), has developed its Rebuild and Renew plan, which could create 1.6 million jobs for architects, designers, construction workers, etc. Learn more at the AIA’s blog, The Angle (http://blog.aia.org/angle/).
