A few days ago, eco model turned author Summer Rayne Oakes launched Style, Naturally – the savvy shopping guide to sustainable fashion and beauty with a chic kick off party and book signing at Stella McCartney’s NYC showroom.  Lucky me, I was invited.

The green celebratory vibe was palpable as a confluence of media and fashion guests joined the guest of honor to toast and taste in hip organic style. Abuzz with refreshing organic acai VeeV cocktails and delectable vegetarian hors d’oeuvres from Daniel Boulud, I chatted with sweet Summer, made merry with new pals, (above R), and meandered home with a good energy vibe, (not to mention an armload of sustainable swag).

Style, Naturally is a cool guide.  Key sustainability issues are covered in easy breezy, bloggy style.  The pages are filled with editorial and photos of truly green products as well as profiles of eco fashion’s top designers. A well-researched sustainable primer for today’s conscious consumer — Style, Naturally is printed with vegetable-based inks on recycled paper, naturally.  Summer aspires to be an eco model citizen, helping to bring healthy, eco lifestyle into the mainstream.

Cracking open the book today, I couldn’t help but smile as I remembered the good vibes of the launch and meeting (top right), Angela Anthony and Rachel Mersky of beanstockd.comd, as well as Michael Wachell, but that’s a story for another day.
