Living in London for the past year, I’ve really missed many of the brands I loved in the U.S. (Kashi!), but I’ve also grown quite fond of a few British ones that I never tried in the states. For one, I’m now utterly addicted to Rachel’s Dairy yogurt. My fiancé and I often go through a couple of cartons a week, so I was excited to learn that the brand launched in the U.S. in late 2007.

Called Rachel’s Wickedly Delicious in the U.S., and distributed by White Wave, the line was originally founded in the U.K. in 1984, and was a soaring success right from the get-go. All Rachel’s products are free of artificial flavors, preservatives and sweeteners; there is no high-fructose corn syrup, GMOs or artificial growth hormones. (more…)

For those who can still afford the status boost of driving to the local Costco in a fancy SUV and want to offset their ostentation by “going green”, this one’s for you. Hopefully the technology will benefit a broad class of vehicles.

From the press release: Porsche AG, has shared more information about its Cayenne S Hybrid, which will debut next year. Using a parallel full hybrid design with the electric motor between the combustion engine and the transmission, Porsche engineers have been able to drive at speeds up to 86 mph without using the combustion engine. In a tough economy it can be hard to balance your desire to be eco-conscious with the need to keep your head above water financially. ‘Green’ doesn’t have to mean more expensive. Here are a few tips for saving money while helping the environment. Remember, it all adds up:
- Turn off that television, computer and peripherals when you’re not using them. You’d be surprised at how much power they’re sucking up in standby, (think: vampire).
- Exchange your incandescent bulbs for low energy, long lasting CFLs. I know you’ve heard it before, but it will save you money.
- Get off the bottled water merry-go-round. Slap a water filtration system on you kitchen sink or tap, or get a Brita or Zero Water tap water filtration pitcher and by all means get yourself a reusable water bottle to refill as needed. You’ll be surprised how much dinero you can save and you won’t be tossing hundreds of pounds of plastic into landfills every year. (more…)

Boston-based ZeroEnergy Design creates high-performance green home designs that transcend the usual limitations of sustainable building by creating structures that are striking in style and green in substance.

The Truro Residence (pictured), was designed for a Boston couple and their extended family seeking a weekend and summer getaway in one of our favorite locales, Cape Cod.

Artist Mark Langan works strictly with reclaimed material, specifically, corrugated cardboard, to create incredibly detailed works of art. Mark has taken his sculptures out of the traditional ‘art’ world, and done commissioned artwork for: paper, corrugated manufacturers, packaging companies, recycling firms, green industries, organizations and related events. His artwork currently adorns boardrooms and lobbies from small to prominent firms throughout the U.S.

Langan creates these amazing sculptural works using nothing more than mere corrugated boxes, non-toxic glue, a razor knife, a cutting edge and mat, artistic vision and a ton of patience.
