Do we really need a flying car, or…is this the new definition of hybrid? The latest in multi-purpose transportation, the Transition aircraft, is designed to fly 400 miles at over 100 mph and handle the road at highway speeds, all on regular gas.

Woburn, Massachusetts-based, Terrafugia Inc., recently got this thing in the air at an upstate NY airport. You’ll need both a driver’s and pilot’s license to get the full user experience of the vehicle. The designers say it transforms from car to plane in just 30 seconds.
In-flight video after the jump:
Estimated to sell for $194,000. No word on gas mileage.
