Keds jumps on the green bandwagon with tomorrow’s (Wednesday, March 25) kick-off of Green Label, their first eco conscious line of footwear.

The collection features a classic low-top sneaker in black, white, or green; and a nautical-inspired slip-on in taupe, white or sky blue. Available at Nordstrom, or online @ keds.com ($55).

They look comfy. Here’s the eco breakdown of Green Label’s Silhouettes:
- 100 percent GOTS – certified organic cotton uppers and linings
- 20 percent recycled rubber outersoles
- Texon cellulose insole board made with 100 percent recycled fibers and non-toxic chemicals
- shoelaces made from 100 percent recycled PET (water bottles)
- non-toxic, water-based cements
- non-toxic inks and dyes
- nickel-free hardware
- 100 percent post-consumer waste shoebox and tissue
To help offset carbon emissions, Keds, in collaboration with National Arbor Day Foundation (NADF) will plant a tree in our nation’s forests, for each pair of Green Label shoes sold this year.
