Love the look and love the name. New York architect Jeffrey McKean has designed his Modesthouse and MH Mini homes to integrate seamlessly into their surroundings. McKean’s designs feature lots of glass and light, sustainable building practices, green energy systems, and a wide choice of eco friendly materials and finishes. (more after jump)

Modesthouse utilizes a system of pre-manufactured components such as structural insulated panels (SIPS) for the roof, walls and floor; and FSC certified timber for primary framing. Pre-fabricated building components are assembled on site to save time and materials. Some other optional features: high performance insulated glazing units, photovoltaic solar panels, ground source heat pump (geothermal), rain water harvesting, subfloor radiant heat, green roof and Valcucine kitchen cabinets.

Jeffrey is currently commencing construction of his model home in Ulster County, NY.

Wow! Love the design. I love seeing top-notch design, energy efficiency and environmental sensibility integrated in such a beautiful way. Perfect product at the perfect time.
Love it!
What a beautiful, lovely dwelling this Modesthouse is. It’s so rare to find
a pre-fabricated house with such grace and thoughtfulness, that
one would hate to say that Mosesthouse is “prefab”. Modesthouse is Modesthouse and quite in its own category.
