I just got around to reading a press release I received on Friday from an organization called, The Consumer Energy Alliance.  The release cited a recent report from the U.S. Department of the Interior that stated “Undiscovered energy resources offshore may be four times greater than previous estimates of America’s proven reserves.”  The CEA subtitle reads: “American people have waited long enough for a fair and honest assessment of offshore resources.”  Interestingly, the data used to estimate offshore oil and gas reserves comes from a 2006 Interior Department study done by the Bush administration as part of its campaign to open offshore energy reserves.  (more…)
