FOOD, INC., directed by Robert Kenner, “lifts the veil on our nation’s food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that’s been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government’s regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA.”
Released by Magnolia Pictures, the film opens in select theaters (NY/LA/SF) Friday, June 12, but will receive a wider release in additional cities throughout June and July. Find play dates @ magpictures.com/and more info on Food, Inc. @ foodincmovie.com/.

I have been attempting to shop at my local farmers market. So far, there isn’t much produce there yet, but I think the wet spring has caused that. As the summer goes on, I am sure that I will start buying almost all of my produce at the farmers market from local growers. And the quality is almost always better than what you get at the grocery store too!
We purchase from local farmers at the Farmers Market and have not purchased fast food in over a year. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’m growning my own veggies.
there are some farms nearby so i buy from them
I try to buy from the farmers market!
I buy from my local farmers market every week.

i’m buying local
I began taking Ecopsychology classes so I could better understand how to live in harmony with nature. I began growing my own produce and herbs. I make everything from scratch and refuse to purchase from irresponsible corporations. I ask “what chemicals were used” at farmers markets and if they can not say it is natural, I do not buy it.
I would love to win. We are taking more food from local farmers and trying to stay away from processed foods.. Thank you for the chance.
I avoid corporate eating in general, and buy almost all my produce from local farmers’ markets. I haven’t eaten meat in a year and have never felt better!
We shop at local store and farms.
I saw a review of this movie the other day and I really want to see it. I am doing my best to buy locally including fruits, veggies and especially meat.
I heard about this on NPR. They had an interview with Mr. Kenner. The info on cloned meats makes this well worth checking out.

I pack my lunch instead of eating out at restaurants!
I eat at local restaurants & shop at my local co-op.
we’re eating organic fruits and veggies now!
I am trying to fight the food giants by growing as much of our food as possible. I grow heirloom varieties that are certified non-GMO.
I try to shop mainly in the produce section of grocery store or buy from bulk bins. Also eat veggies from the garden.
I never eat at fast food restaurants and belong to a CSA (community supported agriculture) – get fresh vegetables every week from a local farm!
We rarely eat out and visit farmer’s market when possible.

I have really cut back on eating fast food. From almost everyday to about once a week now. Eventually I hope to be free of it.
I planted an actual garden for the first time this year, and I’m trying not to buy packaged foods or fast food.
I grow my own vegs.
we garden as much as we can
Wow, I love fast food nation. I grow my own vegetables and I try to buy food products from local farmers around town. We shouldn’t be slaves to national market. We should be able to provide for ourselves and our families without the assistance from slaughter barns.
father-in-law has 15 chickens so we get fresh eggs from him for free!
I grow some in the garden
I’ve been trying to buy local or grow my own produce
I follow on twitter @mannabsn
I have a small container garden setup on my patio, having fresh salad greens and herbs close by is really nice when I’m cooking

We visit the Saturday home grown farmer’s market every week!
I planted a garden and am going to buy a lot more of my food from local sellers.
We have started gardening. Can not get much more local then that.
a few things: buy from farmer’s markets when they are in season, eat mainly whole foods, pack lunches and don’t buy single serving sizes at supermarket
I grow veggies–although I don’t have very big crops. I recently found a farm where I can buy grass fed beef and hormone free chickens.
We haven’t seen the movie, but DH has read a lot about it and would like to see it. We are trying to buy more local food. I’ve been buying blueberries from a friend and her kids, and we’re checking out the farmer’s market more often.
I haven’t been very conscious of it thus far, but I’m hoping to buy some of my food at the local farmer’s market when I move to my new city!
I’m not such a fan of eating flesh–but when I do it’s from local farms—no corn fed!!!
I buy fresh fruit from the farmer’s market up the road, I buy peanut butter freshly made from my local health food store, and my family buys produce from an independent stand in a nearby city. I always bring my own reusable bags to the grocery store, and I try to buy products with as little packaging as possible.
I have been cutting back on red meat. My husband has become a vegan which I haven’t reached yet but I am more aware of the food that I am eating trying to put more fruits and vegetables into my diet. Thanks for the wonderful giveaway.
This year we started our own organic garden so we could really control most of the food that we eat. Anything we don’t grow ourselves we buy at the local farmer’s market!
I go to the farmers market on the weekend to pick up produce and we are trying to eat more meals at home.
My family has not eaten fast food in over 6 years. We only eat/buy locally grown food.
Thanks.
I shop local farmers markets for produce, buy organic meats and eat natural foods.
I have been trying to become a locovore… I eat food that was produced within 100 miles of where I live. I get tons of fresh food from farmers markets, which helps my community, my health, and the environment!
