UPDATE: 9/19/09 – It’s official – Congratulations to our 2 winners – Phil W and Sarah C! Thanks to everyone for participating, and sending in such great comments. If you didn’t win, don’t despair. Check out our latest Great Green Giveaway listed in the middle column, near the top of our home page.
Revving up for the annual fall yard clean-up? This timely Great Green Giveaway is being generously sponsored by LEHR, an innovator in eco friendly lawn care. Two lucky winners will be able to tidy up their lawn by using this Detachable Curved Shaft: Propane Powered Eco Trimmer. (Note: the 16.4 ounce, “camping style” canister cannot be shipped, so winners will need to pick up one at a local retailer.)

Rather than spill gas on the lawn and spew toxic fumes around the neighborhood, a cleaner, easier to operate alternative is here — the LEHR Eco Trimmer…the world’s first propane-powered lawn and garden tool. The string Eco Trimmer has all the power and performance of a gasoline trimmer — minus the detrimental pollution and emissions associated with dirty gasoline engines.
It has zero ozone depleting potential, zero evaporative emissions, 96% fewer carcinogens and 97% fewer particulates than its gasoline counterpart, and already exceeds the EPA’s 2011 regulations for home and garden equipment. Plus, 85-percent of our propane is produced domestically so it reduces our dependence on foreign oil. And don’t forget, electric-powered trimmers involve a cord twisting round your yard, and battery-powered options involve “dealing with the battery.”
Fueled by propane and its patented, “Twist ‘n Go” fueling system, it will run for about 2 hours on a single propane canister, requires very little maintenance and starts at the push of a button. Empty canisters are 100% recyclable. Learn more @ www.goLEHR.com.

We would not have to use our old gas/oil trimmer. The fumes smell forever afterword and my hubby always smells like exhaust until he showers. This sounds so much better!
Our lawn mower and trimmer are ancient and use so much gas and oil. It would definitely help us use less resources!
Twitter follower
my gas powered trimmer just died, this would be an ideal prize for me!!

Great give away, I have an acre so this would be really usefull
It would cut down on my gas usage
no more gas!
The trimmer would be so much easier to use than the electric that we have we would be able to do a better job with our lawn
Thanks for the giveaway…We currently use an “ancient” gasoline string trimmer that belches out clouds of exhaust when you start it, as well, it can be a messy endeavor to mix the gasoline / oil it uses as fuel, and the inevitable drips when filling the tank that often result. Not such an earth friendly garden tool, so I am happy to report we will retire it this year.
I have a very small yard in Vegas. This would totally take care of the back yard
would be great to save fuel and be easier to use
i dont know how it would make lawn care endeavors greener but i would sure make my lawn care easier
could get rid all the rough edges mverno@roadrunner.com
would love to try a propane trimmer!
AWESOME, THIS I NEED.
This would be great to use around my deck!
Boy! Could I use this.
Boy could I use a weed wacker for my yard.
This eco trimmer would make our lawn care greener by replacing an old trimmer we have that gives off horrible fumes.
Awesome product; much cleaner than gasoline!
wow! I don’t even own one. but would love too! I am in charge of the lawn and I could use some help especially with an eco friendly one
this would be so great!
This would be great. I wouldn’t be in a cloud of gas that makes me sick. better for the environment better for me.
this would make my lawn care efforts greener by being able to control the frequency in which I do my lawn and no gas powered tools!
No more gas fumes stinking up our backyard in the summer; that’d make the plants and my family happier!
This would help my husband with those parts of the yard that are too hard to do by hand.
this would come in real handy in my handyman business I’m constently rebuilding the one’s I’ve got now. and always running to the gas station great idea!!!
This will help keep my yard cleaner and less fuel compared with the bigger lawnmower for certain areas of the lawn.
i cant believe my eye i trimmer that doesnt use gas well you know what i mean, can you believe how gas prices have shot up? man its a shame. this would make my yard so much better no more beathing those horrible fumes that comes from out gas trimmer, and everytime we use it were helping the environment what a great deal. this way to cool, and would really help me and the environment too. thanks
This would be good for edging the driveway and walkway.
I would use it to trim around this tree and that tree and this bush and that bush. I would use it here and there and everywhere!
I could use this!! Thanks for the chance.

A propane trimmer would be great, I wouldn’t have to store gasoline, and there would be no mess of having to mix with oil.
I would love this because our 2 strokes spew nasty gasses out of them, and electric trimmers burn up because we have to use a 200′ cord, and rechargeable trimmer are heavy, and just don’t have the power for our yard. Thanks.
In my shady lawn, the grass grows slowly except at the very front where it gets some sun. If I had this, I could use it on the part that grows without getting out the gas mower. I would love that.
Wow, nice trimmer. With a new house and lots of landscaping this trimmer would sure help me maintain a beautiful yard still being eco friendly.
Their products are really cool. My husband and I just moved from a condo with no lawn to a home that needs a look of lawn work and this would be great to trim all the weeds in both the front and back yard.
This would be good for the ecology, and I’ll bet a lot of my neighbors would want one when I told them of the benefits, and show them it also does a good job too.
We have a small lawn but it is completely fenced in, so this would be perfect.
I want to win
I try to trim 17 1/2 acres and need something portable that does not stink up the place and spook the horses. We are an IRS 501(c)(3) pubic charity that rescues horses.
I hate smelling like a refinery doing yard work and the electrics don’t have the power I need. My city uses propane work trucks so I know propane works.

Whoops, Name added
We’d love to extend our eco-friendly lifestyle to garden equipment! Currently, we dig up the weeds between our yard and the street in an old-school, shovel way. This would bring me much back relief — and save the envirnoment! Love it!
