Last week, the world class Frankfurt Motor Show served as the proving grounds for a line-up of efficient electrics. And topping the list of glitzy unveilings with four, all-electric cars was none other than Renault, Nissan’s sister company, with the Twizy Zero Emission (Z.E.), Fluence Z.E., Kangoo Z.E. and Zoe Z.E.

Designed to come to market in the next three years, Renault is making a punchy statement about their plans for global green offerings. Take, for instance, the tiny Twizy Z.E., which touts a “footprint barely larger than a scooter,” and complementary speed of 47 mph. Or the Zoe Z.E. Concept, promising a 100 mile range, mood lighting and futuristic “hydrate, detox and active scent climate control.” (Yeah, we’re a little confused about that too.)
Also making headlines was the Quickdrop—a rapid vehicle charging method that calls for exchange stations that will replace batteries in three minutes. Other charging options include an eight-hour or 20-minute plug in full charge.
