The SodaStream machine is fantastic as it allows me to save over 100 cans or 30 plastic bottles a month just from personal consumption. Going green, using less sugar and being able to formulate your own soda recipe is not only being environmentally conscious but also being creative and resourceful. It also helps to create better healthier mindset by not drinking all the preservatives that are normally found in commercialized sodas. It's nice to know that one has control and create your own soda and take a more proactive stance to one's own health and lifestyle, and not be controlled by corporations. It'll be a huge help with his diabetes - we're so eager to keep making progress... it'd be especailly awesome if we could reduce landfill space as well as our carbon footprint with something so easy as the SodaStream.
