asi1.jpgLike many celebrities, Alicia Silverstone has put together a guide for the rest of us, one that tells us the secret to her fame and beauty.  Silverstone’s most recent book The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight and Saving the Planet highlights a vegetarian diet (now often called a “plant based diet” to avoid controversy).  The book takes readers through a three-step transition into Silverstone’s diet.  She includes recipes, anecdotes and “motivational tips” to help you kick your current diet and adopt hers.

Many, including Silverstone, argue that “plant based diets” are inherently more green than their carnivorous counterparts.  Plants require less fuel, water and other resources. The upside is that plants are also tasty and nutritious.  The Kind Diet advocates a vegan, organic diet heavy on whole grains and sea vegetables, but it also acknowledges that the regiment won’t work for everyone.  For those interested in Silverstone’s unique take on the traditional vegetarian diet, The Kind Diet is certainly worth checking out. Tonight, Los Angeles press are invited to the debut of The Kind Diet at the Stella McCartney store in Beverly Hills.  All proceeds from this evening will go to the Waterkeeper Alliance, an advocacy group working to preserve waterways around the globe.

In conjunction with the book launch, she’ll soon rollout the companion website, theKindLife.com featuring all things green and groovy.
